ShawMan achieved the CMMi ver 1.2 Maturity Level 3. It’s a great honour for every ShawMan’ite, as this certification is considered as an international stamp of quality on our processes.

What is CMMi?

Capability Maturity Model® Integration (CMMI) is a process improvement approach that provides organizations with the essential elements of effective processes. It can be used to guide process improvement across a project, a division, or an entire organization. CMMI helps integrate traditionally separate organizational functions, set process improvement goals and priorities, provide guidance for quality processes, and provide a point of reference for appraising current processes.

CMMI best practices enable organizations to do the following:

  • more explicitly link management and engineering activities to their business objectives
  • expand the scope of and visibility into the product lifecycle and engineering activities to ensure that the product or service meets customer expectations
  • incorporate lessons learned from additional areas of best practice (e.g., measurement, risk management, and supplier management)
  • implement more robust high-maturity practices
  • address additional organizational functions critical to their products and services

The ShawMan CMMI based system

The ShawMan CMMI System addresses project performance problems by identifying elements of good planning such as proven engineering process, estimates based on historical data. When cost/schedule pressures arise, normally plans are abandoned, leading to more problems; but the new system tracks and corrects; using proactive risk management and quantitative management.

The system ensures a standard organizational process, tailored to fit each project. The common processes / measures allow better use of historical data.

System ensures product quality by implementing a disciplined engineering and management process ensuring ‘Do it right the first time’. Fixing latent defects often accounts for 30-40% of project cost; but with new system, peer reviews find defects early, where it is cost effective to fix them.

The ShawMan CMMI based system

  • Reduced Costs
  • Faster schedules
  • Greater productivity
  • Higher product quality
  • Increased customer satisfaction
